Volunteer Masseurs Needed

NSW Government 2010 Spring Cycle

Sunday 17th October

Sydney Olympic Park it's going to be a great day.

Please donate just one day to promote massage to the public and to the industry. The role of the massage team is to provide a therapeutic massage (about 10 min on tired legs and maybe shoulders )service to riders on the Spring Cycle. To aid in the quick recovery of the cyclists, we require professionally certified masseurs on hand at our rest sites and finish site to offer a short and relaxing free massage. Small advertising of your business is acceptable.

Skills & Abilities: Graduates in a recognised course, preferably with experience in sports massage or remedial massage. A willingness to handle a quick turnover in less than ideal conditions. You will need to bring your own portable massage table, oils and towels and any other bits and bobs you think will be needed on the day.

Massage Volunteers can expect to work from 9am to approximately 3 pm  (5 CPE Points).

As our way of thanking you, all volunteers receive:

  • Special transport arrangements to and from event
  • Morning Tea or Lunch
  • All volunteer uniforms, supplies, equipment and goodie bags will be provided on the event day when you first arrive at your designated meeting point. Your Team Leader will be in charge of supplying you with all of these items.

For more information please visit our website at springcycle.com.au or phone (02) 9704 0809

People from all over Sydney will be riding their bikes on Sunday, October 17 and experiencing the thrill of riding across the Harbour Bridge in a lane dedicated to the event. Cycling through the picturesque scenery of Sydney with their family and friends, they will finish their ride at the iconic Sydney Olympic Park!

Once again we will have the support of the RTA, NSW Police, Sydney Olympic Park Authority, NSW Ambulance, St John First Aid Personnel and a record 500+ fantastic volunteers, working together to provide a safe and fun, recreational cycling event for all of Sydney to enjoy.

We can only make this happen with your support. We would like to request the support of Association of Remedial Masseurs in recruiting people from your school to take part as massage volunteers in the 2010 NSW Government Spring Cycle.

There are many great reasons to volunteer! It gives people a chance to:

•           Use and develop their skills and knowledge.

•           Know and meet and be recognised by others in the community.

•           Have their community recognised as a whole.

.   Massage volunteers earn CPE points.

To register as a volunteer go to www.springcycle.com.au  click on the volunteer button and go to the registration page to fill out an online application form.

Furthermore, we warmly welcome Association of Remedial Masseurs to join this year’s ride and form a team! The NSW Government Spring Cycle is a fantastic entry point to encourage your community group to “get healthy, be environmentally-friendly, reduce pollution, and save money on fuel at the same time.”
